Can you believe we have been in the new year a week already?! I don’t know about you but for me this week flew by.
Last year I got my whole year planned out. I was going to spend the last of 2015 and most of 2016 in Canada. After three months I decided to come back home for personal reasons but I was determined to go back in the summer to explore the rest of that beautiful country and I did! 🙂 travel wishlist
Between January and June I worked a lot but did trips here and there but today I am not talking about last year. As you may or may not know I have nothing, work and travel wise, planned for 2017. No I am lying, kinda, I do have two trips ‘planned’ but it’s not set in stone yet. This makes it scary but also excited at the same time because I can do whatever I want!
This made me think about my next adventures. I already did a ‘top 10 places I want to visit’ so I thought why won’t I make that happen this year?! Of course I am not going to visit all those 10 places but I think I found a couple that are achievable for this year and I will be adding a couple extra places that weren’t on my list.
So here is my travel wishlist
Relaxing in Thera (Santorini), Greece
The white houses of Thera (Santorini) have always got my attention. I would love to do some island hopping in Greece but I am not sure that this will happen this year. Just relaxing and exploring this picturesque city would be nice as well. If I find a cheap ticket to Thera (Santorini) I will take the first flight out!
Exploring Sevilla, Spain
I have been going to the Algarve (Portugal) almost my whole life but I have never been to Sevilla. Which is only a two-hour drive from our time-share in Portugal. I wanted to go two summers ago but apparently it is ridiculous hot during the summer. As for right now I am leaning to go visit this city in March when it’s not that hot. So lets hope I do!

Finding Romeo and Juliet in Verona, Italy
I know it sounds lame but after watching ‘letters to Juliet’ and it looked beautiful. So I went on Google and I just fell in love with Verona. Go look up Verona and you will understand why I want to visit this city.
Learning about Berlin’s history, Germany
I have been to a lot of cities all over the world but I have never been to Berlin, which isn’t that far away. I know shame on me, haha. Berlin has always been a place I wanted to visit because of its history but then there were always other trips that got my priority. But since I have nothing planned and my friend Lena lives there I have no excuse on not going.

Getting surprised by Sprs.me
This wasn’t on my list of ‘top 10 places I want to visit’ but I have been hearing about sprs.me a lot lately. Sprs.me aka Surprise me is a Dutch based travel company where you can book a trip without knowing your destination. They will tell you when you need to be at the airport and a week before you leave you’ll receive a weather report and a scratching card. At the airport you can start scratching and insert the numbers online. Ones you have done that you will find your destination and it will be time to board!
This makes me very curious. I am someone that likes to plan ahead not much but at least look what there is to do at the destination. This being said, I want to experience going to an unknown city/country with nothing planned. You only live ones right?! 😉
Family time in Algarve, Portugal
As I have said before I have been going to the Algarve almost my whole life. We have a time-share there so for a lot of years we went there every year. I didn’t go last year because I was in Canada but I will make sure I will go back this year. If everything goes as planned we will be going with the whole family. I will also try to explore more of the county when I am there.

One of my best friends, Saskia, studies in Bristol so of course I will fly out to see her! We just have to see when she has the time because this is her last year, so busy busy busy!

When I did my stopover (October 2015) in Iceland I told my mom we had to go back someday, preferably in the summer, because the country is beautiful and they will love it! Long story short but we didn’t had time to go last year so I hope I get the chance to show Iceland to them in 2017.
Road trip, West Coast, United States
One of my dreams is going on a West Coast road trip but I know this will be a trip for next year. When I finally go I want to take my time and for that I need enough money. So I decided to start saving for this and hopefully I can make this happen in 2018!

Fijne reisplannen heb je, en ook heel divers! Ik wil ook graag naar IJsland maar het lijkt erop dat het er dit jaar niet van gaat komen.Of misschien kiezen voor een lang weekend IJsland voor een eerste korte kennismaking, dat kan ook altijd nog. Gaaf dat je er nog eens met je ouders heen wil. Noord Noorwegen staat nu ook hoog op het wensenlijstje, we wilen dolgraag de Lofoten en omstreken verkennen. Verder heb ik een aantal reisjes naar Frankrijk op de planning staan en wil ik deze zomer graag weer naar Dublin en omgeving, mijn schoonbroer bezoeken.

Ik zou zelfs een korte kennismaking met IJsland aanraden. Ik heb daar 5 dagen gezeten.
Noorwegen is ook prachtig. Lang geleden dat ik daar nog ben geweest, maar leuk dat je al een aantal reisjes vast hebt staan. Veel plezier!
Misschien kun je een trip door Europa nemen, aangezien je zoveel landen in Europa wilt zien. Veel plezier met je reizen en ik ben heel benieuwd waar je allemaal naartoe gaat!

Dat is eigenlijk een heel goed idee! Alleen kan ik dat momenteel niet. Wie weet doe ik dat nog wel in de toekomst. Nu zal het voor kleine tripjes zijn tussen mijn werk door. 🙂 en Dank je!
Een hoop leuke reisplannen joh! Berlijn kan ik je zeker aanraden, echt een super leuke stad, hip en toch ook weer oud met natuurlijk ontzettend veel geschiedenis. Wij gaan begin maart een weekje de zon opzoeken in de Algarve en zitten dan in een hotelletje in Carveiro, dus als je nog tips hebt, dan hoor ik het graag!

Oh wat leuk! Ikzelf ben nog niet in Carveiro geweest. Op mijn blog heb ik al een aantal artikelen geschreven over Portugal. Neem even een kijkje en als je nog vragen hebt hoor ik ze graag.
I want to go to all of these places! My husband and I are working on a Spain trip later this year for the two of us and our older child, and I’m really hoping we can get the budget, itinerary, and time off to make the trip happen. 🙂 I think I might like to try Sprs.me, too, even though I’m the world’s biggest travel planner. I’d like to see what it would feel like to just hop on a plane and go somewhere for once!

I love your wishlist! I would love to few places from your list as well. Rome, Italy, Iceland and England are very high on my list. Recently I went to visit Berlin and it was amazing! I only had 2 days there and I feel like I haven’t explored it enough, so I’m thinking of going back there again soon 🙂

Ik heb twee keer met srprs.me gereisd en ik vond het het geld wel waard. Ik koos voor citytrip en had steeds leuke hotelletjes tegen het centrum van de stad. En ze houden rekening met waar je al geweest bent en je voorkeuren. (Bij boeken kun je bij opmerkingen aangeven waar je al geweest bent en/of niet heen wilt.)

Fijne wishlist! O, Reykjavik en IJsland, geweldig. Ik zou zo weer terug willen. Ik ben nog nooit met sprs.me weg geweest, maar het lijkt me wel heel gaaf. Op Schiphol staan, zonder te weten waar je naar toe gaat. Spannend!
